 Okay here is my run down on Too Short. He was born in Los Angeles and by the age of 14 he lived in Oakland
California. Too Short is the West Coast's first Rap star.
He recorded two albums on his own before copping a Major Label deal in 1988. He released the album

With lyrics that displayed messages of sex and physical violence he grew larger than
life.
Born as Todd Shaw on April 28, 1966 he was destined to be famous. I hear rappers talk about
how they sold CD’s out the trunk to get known but Short was the master.
He didn’t have CD’s he sold tapes. Signed to a local label in Oakland he recorded his first album
in 1983 “Don’t Stop Rappin’.

 He recorded three albums in the next two years before forming his own label Dangerous
Music with friend Freddy B.
In 1986 short was so good at selling records out the trunk that he sold more than
50,000 copies of Born to Mack. Jive Records got the word and sent for him with a Major

Talk about grand hustle. He went Gold with hardly any airplay. The follow-up album Life Is Too
Short went platinum in 1989. With more than 10 albums under his belt Shorty The Pimp is definitely a Hip Hop Music Classic
legend. If you don’t own a Short Dog CD you are trippin’. Every Hip Hop fan I know has him somewhere in the catalog.
