It's pretty obvious that Hip Hop Music is here to stay and that it has crossed many boundaries.
From Cheer Championships, Dance Championships, Cheer and Dance Camps the very upbeat music is being used in record breaking numbers. Hip Hop Music has even been featured in blockbuster movies such as Bring It On and Bring It On Again . Which vastly increased Hip Hop Music and cheerleading popularity. Amazing what the silver screen can do. I did some research and found out that Techno music is used a lot in cheerleading competitions too.
Well that's ties right back into Hip Hop.
How? Well if you know the history of the music you will find out that it was not started in the U.K. which most people think. NO!! Techno is a sub-genre of music that extends from Electro-Funk which was founded by Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force ,a founding father of the Hip Hop culture.
Hip Hop Cheer music is also causing squads around the nation to step there game up. The music mixes of the competition cd's must be flawless so it requires good DJ's and excellent producers. It's not enough to just play a cd from your local music store and think you are ready.
Hip Hop Cheerleading Music has to be different and creative otherwise you will be doing "Spirit Fingers" in front of a crowd full of sleeping fans. Find something special to dance to. Make sure it is unique enough to match the dance moves you practiced for over 100 man hours.
