Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Wear is in negotiations to secure the naming rights to New Jersey’s Meadowlands Arena.
Jay-Z, who owns a portion of the New Jersey Nets, hopes to secure the arena’s naming rights which are currently held by Continental Airlines.
Izod and Southpole are also competing for the arena’s naming rights.
The Bergen Country Record reports that The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which is handling bids for the naming rights, said a new name for the arena would be chosen as early as October 4th.
The winning bid will hold the naming rights for two years.
The New Jersey Nets move to Brooklyn in 2009.
