Elvis Presley surface sales in trouble
Jay-Z is set to debut at #1 with his new album “American Gangster” on pace to sell 400K - 450K copies during its first week in stores. Next week’s #1 debut will tie Elvis Presley for most chart toppers with 10. This is second only to The Beatles who have 19.
Jay-Z’s last album, “Kingdom Come”, sold 680,000 during its first week in stores. “American Gangster” features the lead singles “Blue Magic” and “Roc Boys.” In other related news, Jay-Z will be in a secret location in Brooklyn today taping one of his classics and a song from his new “American Gangster” CD, to air on BET’s “106 & Park.
