LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Beyonce Knowles's record five Grammy wins have crowned the transformation of Destiny's Child's stunning lead singer into a bona-fide solo superstar to be reckoned with.

The sultry songstress dominated the 2004 Grammys from the nominations announcement, when she was one of only four artists to win six nods.

She made good on five of them at the star-studded award ceremony, becoming one of just three female artists ever to have to won as many Grammys trophies.

"This is a wonderful night. I'm so happy," she said backstage after picking up her armful of trophies.

Knowles, 22, who now goes just by her first name, is riding high on the huge success of her debut solo album "Dangerously In Love," which won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Rhythm and Blues Album.

In addition, she took awards for Best Female R and B performance for "Dangerously in Love," Best R and B Performance by a Duo for "The Closer I Get to You," best R and B song for "Crazy in Love" and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for .../
